Silva Mora; Ph.D., ERAMUS, B.S.
Dr. Mora is currently a lecturer at the University of Liverpool in Liverpool England. Dr. Mora’s current research interests at the University are to unravel the molecular mechanisms that regulate the activation of glucose transport by insulin and trafficking of adipose released hormones (adipokines). Her research program is funded by Diabetes UK and by the Wellcome Trust. Earlier, she was an Assistant Professor at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. Even earlier Dr. Mora Research Scientist, Dept. Pharmacology, at the State University of New York in Stonybrook, NY. Earlier still, she was a lecturer in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. Dr. Mora has published and co-published several research articles including: Kanzaki M., Mora S., Saltiel A.R., and Pessin J.E. (2004) Atypical Protein Kinase C (PKCλ/ζ) is a convergent downstream target of the insulin-stimulated Phosphati-dylinositol 3 Kinase and TC10 signaling pathways.
