Joseph A. Skelton; M.D., B.S.

Dr. Skelton is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. He is Director of the Brenner FIT (Families In Training) Program at Brenner Children's Hospital, a multi-disciplinary pediatric weight management program, and Co-director of the Collaborative to Strengthen Families and Neighborhoods, a partnership with the YWCA of Winston-Salem that engages the community in addressing childhood obesity. Dr. Skelton is a health services researcher that studies the delivery of obesity treatments, focusing on evidence-based approaches with diverse partnerships. Dr. Skelton holds a M.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN, conducted both Residency and Fellowship with the Medical College of Wisconsin and holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Furman University, Greenville, SC. He is board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics.
