Agnieszka Z. Pluta; M.D., Ph.D

Dr. Pluta is currently an assistant Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Georgetown University Medstar Medical Center in Washington, DC. Her practice involves the local community, seeing multiple pediatric and young patients with GI disorders including pediatric and child obesity. She also addresses obesity-related conditions including chronic constipation, fecal soiling, recurrent abdominal pain, and GERD. Earlier, she was the House Pediatrician for the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD. Dr. Pluta conducted her Pediatric residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD and received a Fellowship in Pediatric GI at the CNNMC in Washington, DC. She conducted post doctorate work with the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. Earlier still, Dr. Pluta completed her pediatric and pediatric GI training in Poland, where she had been an Associate Professor at the Warsaw Academy of Medicine, Pediatric Department. During that period, she conducted research in infectious diarrhea, vitamin D metabolism and milk allergy. Dr. Pluta holds M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Warsaw Medical Academy in Warsaw, Poland. She is currently Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology by both the Polish and American Board of Pediatrics.
